“Neue Synth Wave” is the selective playlist of German speaking regions’s local New Wave / Punk scene from early 80’s made by German music based consultant, JHN.
By listening to this, I had an impression on the firm alignment with the history of electronic music and regional traits : This applies to the selections have a pre form of German techno – Repetitive almost machinery beats with synth melodies and features vocals. A nice touch of Bauhaus style industrial design.
Some track have a classic piano sample which reminiscent on theatrical soundtrack of Germany ( or Austria ). Overall so far, it felt as if traveling through local towns or at a nightclub in Germany.
Speaking of Post Punk, the playlist includes the melodious of beautiful melancholy sound style which reminisce the Joy Division and the classic New Wave style. Deutche punk legend, DAF along with the notorious song, “Kaltes Klares Wasser‘ by Maralia! is global smash hit covered by Chicks On Speed in 2001.
In terms of German subculture, punk and New Wave, it is inevitable to raise this legendary festival in early 80’s called “ Geniale Dilletanten” : to celebrate punk, avant-garde, and experimental art and music. It was the phenomenal of the culture era which not the only in Germany but also for the rest of the globe to be memorized and the retrospective exhibitions were held in the recent past.

Previously mentioned that this “Neue Synth Wave” playlist tracks are gathered in German speaking regions. All attentively selected by beautiful taste in the layers of ideology which especially considering how punk and new wave emerged from the expression of the anarchism, alas the suppression of the working class and streets, delivered to art school dropouts and globally independently diverse different styles up to punk culture today.
For human studies or interests in the age of early twenties, many of us have read the book called, “ Will To The Power “ by German philosopher , Nietzsche. Throughout the selections and the related cultural background and individual ideas reminds me of that in certain degree : The pure drive of objective expressionism and more based on individual ideology points of nature than a group minded or political govern. Those diversity of mind maximizations lead to different outcomes. And the literature is often misunderstood as pessimism about tragedy of life and sexuality. It is an ambivalent and interpretation varies. I find that it ironically applies metaphor for various drives in today’s social network business’s. How much do you want? How far you want to go ?
More or less, the playlist is almost soothing “with style” which I found an appropriate way of welcoming new listeners to experience of this inspiring and witty aspects of new wave/ Synthpop.
It is indeed a profound educational journey to the club venues, industrial design, and the “real” world of contemporary German speaking regions.
