aus is a Japanese music producer who also runs one of the most profound Japan hub global independent music labels called, “FLAU”.
aus’s new album, “Everis” is released for the first time in 15 years and this time is from an UK innovative music label called, Lo Recordings.
Referring to the labels information, the album is conceptually produced as a metaphorical sonic experience through a sample of recorded sounds from the artist’s mobile device and own personal motifs projected onto a texture of sounds which converted into a layers of beautiful sound and melodical production style that album itself shows a personal aspects and layers of different emotions and experiences.
The first track, “Halser Weiter” has got an exceptional opening of the album and engages with one’s emotions : the sound is divinely orchestrated to unfold. As tracks followed, a layer of sounds cultivated and combined an ambient of intimacy and transparency with ( spaces internally and externally) meterpholic eclectic sounds, future jazz, acoustic, electronic, World, mythological folks : all are led by various winds and strings of melodies.
The album seems to have narrative and magnetic effects on the listener’s emotion : as if the emotional water tap slowly opened, the layers of emotion released from the long compression. It is a constant melodious bliss and it gradually flows like a beautiful landscapes.
Indeed, this repetition of eclectic musical selection makes the ensemble journey as if we were listening to a meta-cinematic soundtrack.
This album also reminds us of various scenery in different seasons : a jazzy on a gentle rainy day or a sunny day with fresh breeze. It certainly up to each individual perspective yet for certain that various styles of music production keeps flowing, making an ambient ensemble.
The first time I listened to the single was around “Risshun”- the first day of spring on the lunar calendar. By listening to it, it recalls and resonates the sensation of synchronization with space(s), weather, and the season.
The actual single tracks are slightly different from the one from the album. And it is one of the perfect seasons to unfold and experience both versions. Profound fact is that the color of the album and 10 inch covers have a feature color that is fresh green and vibrant vitamin yellow. It enhances the particular images. I wonder how and any the color conception would be. Sophisticated it is to apply these colors.
At last, this medium, Round Pattern often features ‘being in a state of totonou’, – in order to be balanced and able to overview oneself and its surroundings both internally and externally, which includes an ambient of seasons and own space. This resonates with the experience of listening to ‘Everis’. A beautiful, profound music journey from a process and cultivation that gives listeners a sense of inner alignment as a response. And this mid spring onwards is especially the perfect season to unfold the album to accompany you to enjoy “yuragi” to let your space to totonou : it gives a sense of aesthetic that has kindred with strength.
