ART OSAKA 2024 (Art Event July 2024)

Three venues in two locations in Osaka to explore full of contemporary arts where with like-minded disciplines, the creativity has no bounds.

The longest running art-fair, “ART OSAKA” is about to begin: a large showcase of contemporary artworks and the installations by 21artists, as well as the selected 45 galleries from domestic Japan and global mainly in the Asia region.

There are recognized names such as √K Contemporary, Minako Nishiyama, and Kozo Nishino. These are just a tip of iceberg and the list of artworks at the sites is a numerous from independent to mainstream.

Known Osaka has the history of waterways, the landscape is uniquely tied to rivers and waterways. Therefore the fair and their locations have an element of water: as an example, one of the featured exhibitions will be the celebration of 35years in the friendship between the city of Hamburg (Germany) and the city of Osaka.

“Mit Allen Wassern gezeichnet” (meaning of “Everything is washed by water”) is the anniversary exhibition features the three internationally renowned artists who based in Hamburg. Their large scale of installation, video arts, and mixed media collections are showcasing at the floor of Kagoo where one of the fair venues, is the art and creative community hub located in the area of old shipyards, Kitagaya.

The anniversary exhibition is definitely worth to visit for celebration of the 35th anniversary’s. There are art tours by galleries and artists will be held on the first day of 18th at the expand section of Creative Center OSAKA/Kagoo.
